Alfalfa
The alfalfa was cut for hay on June
18, 2009 and yielded 2.17 tons/acre. It was cut again on August 20, 2009
which yielded .39 tons/acre.

2008 Crop was Alfalfa
No pre-emergence herbicide was
applied prior to planting. Rangelander alfalfa was planted with a JD 1590 no-till drill at
4.79 lbs./acre .5" deep on April 5, 2008 with 50 pounds per acre of 11-52-0 fertilizer with
the seed. The alfalfa was sprayed with 4 ounces/acre of Broclean (Buctryl)
on June 21, 2008. Due to poor stand establishment and dry conditions, 15
pounds/acre of German millet and 4.8 pounds/acre of alfalfa were planted with a
JD 1590 no-till drill .5" deep on June 27, 2008. The field was not
harvested or mowed in 2008.
