2009 Crop was
Alfalfa
Alfalfa
was harvested on June 17, 2009 and
yielded 1.76 tons/acre; and again on August 21, 2009 and yielded .28 tons/acre.
A pre-emergence herbicide application of 58 ounces/acre of Mad Dog (glyphosate
isopropylamine) with AMS (Ammonium
Sulfate) and Flame was sprayed on
August 31, 2009.
A cover crop of 80 pounds/acre of Winter Triticale and 28 pounds/acre of Hairy
Vetch was planted with a JD 1590 no-till drill on September 4, 2009 at .75" deep with
50 pounds/acre of MicroEssentials (12-40-0-10) fertilizer.

2008 Crop was
Alfalfa
No pre-emergence herbicide was
applied prior to planting. Rangelander alfalfa was planted with a JD 1590 no-till drill at
4.79 lbs./acre .5" deep on April 5, 2008 with 50 pounds per acre of 11-52-0 fertilizer with
the seed. 4 ounces/acre of Pursuit with MSO and AMS was applied on June 21,
2008 for post emergent weed control. The field was mowed with a
rotary mower on July 9, 2008 to reduce kochia that could detach and travel with
the wind during the winter.
