Corn
No pre-emergence herbicide was
applied prior to planting. Mycogen (RoundUp Ready) corn (Pioneer 37K84 or
DeKalb EB90RR YGCB, DKC33-10AF2) was planted with a JD no-till planter to
achieve a stand of 20,000 plants/acre 2.5" deep on May 15, 2009 with 40 pounds
of 11-52-0, 100 pounds of urea (46-0-0) and 17 pounds of potash (0-0-60) per

grazing with steers from August 4th to August 25th, 2008. 36 steers had an
average daily gain of 4.62 pounds/day (3,493 pounds total). The steers
harvested 1400 pounds/ac of dry matter of 68.2 average total digestible nitrogen
and 15% crude protein.
A cover crop of was planted with a JD 1590 no-till drill on August 31, 2006 at
35.8 pounds/acre at 1" depth with 50 pounds of 11-52-0 fertilizer with the seed.
